dear Sarah
            on yesterday I cold at the Post office expecting that I would get a letter from you but did not and I then returned to my quarters somewhat uneasy and set down and wrote a letter to you still hoping I would receive a letter from you to day I have just returned from the office disappointed I have not received any letter from you latly the last one I received from you is dated Oct 12th which is now two weekes which is the longest time I have been without receiving a letter from you since I came to This Camp my dear Mussy I do feel very uneasy to hear from you as in your last letter you stated that you was not very well and I have now concluded that you are sick and not able to write and still I think/that if this was so that you would get some one to write to me and let me know the trough for I will be very uneasy my dear one untill I hear from you sometimes I think that you have wrote to me and the letter may have miscaried or laying in some of the Post officies on the rode as some kases of this kind occurs write to me as scoon as you receive this and tell me how your are.
dear Sarah I will send you a package of Envelopes 25 in all at the time I mail this letter These envelopes will have my address printed on them so the directions will be more plain then it is when it is written and then I think that I will be more likly to receive your letters dear Mussy as I wrote to you on yesterday I will conclude by stating that I am well but my dear Sarah I am very uneasy about you and will/be untill I hear from you yet at the same time I do hope and prey that these lines will find you engoying good health dear Mussy I send my love to you and I hope that I will get home to sea you before very long I remain your Affectinate husband please except 25 sweet kisses which I send to you my dear
