Convalescent Camp Virginia
Dear Sarah
I received your kind letter on yesterday it was dated Nov 15th I was very happy to hear from you my dear Sarah to learn that you ware well and getting along as well as you do I was some what surprised in hearing of the death of old Gimmy Hill and the death of his wife I had not heard of their deathes untill you wrote it to me in your last letter I am very sorry indead to learn that Grand Pap is not getting any better I was in hopes that he had got well again as you wrote to me some time ago that you thought that he was getting well again My dear Mussy I will inform you that I made application this morning to procure a furloe to go home to sea you the application was made out in writing and I got it approvied by the Capton in command of this Camp and the papers will be scent to washington to day to be approvied of and sind by the hed Generial their if he sines this furloe I will then be all write and will get home to sea you shortly it will be from five to ten days before the papers will be returned to this Camp before I will know certainly whether I will get going home or not but I hope that I will dear Mussy but in case that I do not get going home I wish you not to consider yourself very much disappointed they are no certenty in furloes untill/you receive them after you receive this letter you nead not write to me untill I either be at home or I write to you again
dear Mussy I am engoying very good health at present and I do hope that these lines may find you also engoying the same blessing give my love to Oliver and Mary Thompson and famly also give my respects to all other enquiring friends
