Mrs Martha. E. Powel (Johnson as was) this is to make some enquiry of you what disposition you intend of disposeing of youre buisiness here with us I have been looking after & seeing to your buisiness for a long time after a manner to the best advantage & not amounting to much but after all a good deal of trouble to me James Garrott is living on your farm the notes of yours Mr F P Hall left with me I have done nothing with them owing to the times & not having the legal authority to do any thing &c I have kept the Tax paid up & that is all I would write more but think maby you will not get this & will defer until I hear from you there was a note given Thomas for about $50.00 for a wagon by one Hannibal Johnston & Elijah McEndree / that I know nothing of if you do write some of the notes that is with me is no account others good Ketchum never complyed with his contract & has left to Nebraska the Old Lady Givens is dead Jack Davis family was well the other day your Mother is in Idair Co your brother that was in Cal is dead Mrs F. P. Hall was well and Mild Ed. M. & Br is in Lagrange Mo you must write as soon as possible & what has to be done probably there will have to be an Admenistrator to go legally
