of re-enlistment as Veteran Volunteer

To All whom it may Concern
The bearer hereof, James H. Pollard an Artificer of Capt. Fredk H. Cruso's Company of the 1st Regt N.Y. Eng. Corps Vols. aged 30 yrs. 5 ft 5 in high, dark complexion, hazel eyes, brown hair & by profession a soldier, born in the State of NY, & enlisted at St Helena Is. S.C. on the 1st day of Feb. 1864 to serve for a period of three years, is hereby permitted to pass to Brooklyn in the Co. of Kings, NY. he having recd a furlough from the 24th March to 32d April, at wh. period he will rejoin his company / or regt. at Pack Barracks NY. or wherever it then may be, or be considered a Deserter.
 
Subsistence has been furnished to said J. H. Pollard to the 24th day of March & pay to the 23 Feb 1864 both inclusive
 
Given under my hand at N.Y. City this 24th March 1864.
