Mr Henry T Tucker of this town, is desirous of an appointment as clerk in the war Department. I beg to recommend him to you as a young gentleman of character & merit, & one who I am sure would make an efficient & valuable officer. He is the son of the late Judge Henry St Tucker of this state, & nephew of our illustrious statesman John Randolph of Roanoke. If you can find a place for him, you will much oblige
