I do not feel in trim as you did when you wrote to me but I must write you a few lines for fear of meting your everlasting displeasure.
I am geting along very well now my fever has all left me and I have got so I can eat like a hog and I feel first rate now if I dont catch cold again as I did / I shall get along first rate now.
I am now taking care of one of the nurses that took care of me when I was sick he has got the Typhoid fever.
You wanted to know how Loucretia was I dont know I have not herd from her for more than ten weeks I dont know weather she is dead or alive I have writen to her but she has not answered my letter yet I also wrote to the folks but have not got an answer to it I gues they are all dead I shall not write any more letters till I have an answer thats the way I serve them.
I have written to Fred but he has not answered my letter so I do not know how he is
I felt disapointed when / I herd that Erastus Tyler had been here and did not come to see me when he was so near
James Ellis is getting his dues for talking about Loucretia I should like to see him a few moments I would put a flea in his ear I gues.
I gues it does not agree with Adaliza getting married I am glad that Leander is making money so fast
What do you think of Brother John dont you think he is a real gentleman I do he acts like it I think but I am sorry he is sick give my best respects to him and tell him I should like to have him write to me if he thinks it worth while.

We have any amount of papers here but they contradict one & other I think that the war will be over for spring or the most of it Banks Division will not have much fighting to do
you feel lonesome at home what do you think of us out here 8 or 9 hundred miles from home and have to lay on the ground at that you had ought to feel contented thare I am sure.
Give my respects to H Spencer and tell him to write to me. I hope Andrew James Jones will prosper he had better enlist Tryphena you must write to Loucretia she will answer your letters
