                                    I recd yours last night and was glad to hear from you I remain the same as ever I sit up about two howers a day and am expecting to go to the hospital every day or be transfered to the invalid corps. you can get a picture by sending to Pernette iff you do it right off they cost 1.50 you must send green backs. I would buy one and send but I have onely got 5.00 dollars and I have to buy every thing I eat you must send by the return / mail or you will be to late Lnt Mayson of Com. I. belongs to our company and has command Capt Harmon of Com F was transfered to our com but we have never seen him.
 
the boys are the same as ever and onely one reenlisted that is Layfaette and is at home on furlough you think I shall enlist again I think I have enough of it now and you would iff you had been in the field the last 18 months. I think iff I could get well I could come home and make boots contented but I am afraid that never will be my work is about done. I cant think of any thing more to write this time so good bye
