let no one see this letter will you
I feel very sorry for your Sister for I have not forgotten her kindness to me nor the kindness of the rest of your folks up there nor yours either if you think I have
Dear Sister
I will now seat my self to answer your letter which I recieved last week and was verry glad to hear from you once more I am glad that you and your children enjoy such good health my health is pretty good now and so is the babys he is just as fat as he can be he is five mounths old and weighs 17 pounds. you wanted to know what his name is his Father named him Edgar Henry. how do you like the name I had a letter from John last week he says he is in good health & spirits to he said that when he first went out he only weighed 125 pounds and now he weighed 160 / dont you think he is fat does Fred write home often I have a letter about every week a paper almost every night. I do not know but what John has gon back to the army I see by the paper that there has some gon back since he wrote but I hope he has not for I do not worry so mutch about him now as I shall if he go to his Reg again O Phene what I have suffered since John has been sick no one can tell nor no one up that way cares I suppose O how glad I shall be when the war is over with so that John can come home then I shall be as happy as Addie is with her husband for I have got as kind a husband as she has I am sory that Addie's health is so poor [line stricken] we are all very glad to hear that Brother John is better Orvilla had a letter from Elvira the same / night that I got yours she would answer it to day but she has gon away to work the rest of the folks are all well except Grandmother she is not able to leav her bed Mother has to stay with her all the time it makes it hard for Mother I am helping my brothers wife do the hous work now days so I do not get mutch time to write it has been very cold here this winter the wind blows almost all the time the snow flies good to day is Ellens beau a fellow from R—is she at home this winter. I have got to take my boy so I must close my baby is all the world to me now that John is gon he is real pretty you must excuse poor writing for I am in a hurry kiss the children for me
