Dear Sister.
We are here all safe. it was raining when we left Pittsb and did not quit until we were in camp two hours. We got supper at Altona 9 oclock. Breakfast in Philadelphia ½ past 7 Friday morning. crossed the river to camden, went by the RR to Jersey City, crossed on the ferry boat to new york 2½ olcock yesterday evening. Got supper and came directly to camp. We are all in the best of spirits and health. We were in Philadelphia barely time to get breakfast. I did not get a chance to hunt any of the folk up. I left a ring with Will Sarver to get fixed. when I went for it, the store was / locked. I got the ring from Mollie Chamber. get it for me. if you think you can send it safe to me, do so, if not keep it carefully. I also was expecting a letter from Mr Chambers, but did not get it. you can see in Saturdays Dispatch, if it is advertised, forward it to me if you please, open it and read if you wish, and put it in another envelope. Tell Mother this is a beautiful place. I wish you all could live here We look down on the Gulf, see nothing but watter spotted with sails as far as the eye can reach.
