Dear Sister.
                        I recieved your wellcome letter [faded] the 4th [faded] do not write to [faded] any more reliable from the [faded] for our Co. several of the [faded] without post. [faded] I recieved the stamps [faded] and thank you for [faded]. The last letter I wrote home I addressed to George in which I enclosed my picture for you. I hope you will get it. 
 
I am sorry for Uncle Feilbach's low state of health but I [faded] hope [faded]. Mother still presses me to go on trying to get a furlough. I would have [faded] as I have [faded] the influence in my behalf. I doubt whether I could get a furlough on the [faded] of Mother dying. I know three men who have failed on the death of their [faded]. Lydia is here on a visit [faded] herself very well. Yesterday it [faded] all day. the snow is [faded] melt. I hope this will find you well as it leaves me, in good health. My Love to Mother, yourself, Mc, and the children. Kiss Harry for me, Melissa & Sissy.
