As I have got a little more time to write and finished my days work I will have to write a little more to you I have been out all day and got back in good time but was behind a train of wagons and had to wait for them on acount of them getting stuck in the mud and got staled myself but am all right now I feel better to night than I have for some time and am in good spirits and feel good but would feel better if I could be with you once more and rock in that big chair of yours and rock you on old gal stool but I guess I shal have to wait awhile longer yet till I get my visit over with Uncle Sam as he is a fine old chap and cannot help but respect / the old chap and old but old age is honorable you know I have often thought of Andrew Mellic and how he feels about going to war yet but guess his folks are as bad off as they was when I was there I have not from Bill Burchard since I left home I supose you have good times going to church I supose you go a foot as you did once 2 years a go perhaps you remember all about it If you do not I do but enough of that for this time but I do remember of one time when you went east Auburn or when you came home and that remember a good while but Love I hope you will not be mad at this for it a little simpel and one thing mor you must excuse this bad writing and spelling for I write in a hurry and on book but will do better some time but I must close for I must write to B Ross yet to night and its most roll call but remember me as your near and dear friend and lover remember me to your folks I have not heard from Sarah tell her to write and I will answer it
