Dear Beloved Let
having an opportunity of writing to you as it is Sunday and not much to be done I also wrote one to Mother but knowing you will be looking for a letter from me I will have to write to you Let I know that I donot write as often as I should I wish I could send you one everyday but cannot at present and it is doubtful if this reaches you soon

this leaves me well and hope it may find you in better health than you formaly have enjoyed Let if there was a way to get there I would you may bet / but hope this war will soon be over and all be permitted to return home I have not heard any nuse from the east for some time back but have not doubt but things are working well old Bill will wake them up some of these fine mornings it is quiet here and has been since we came here and hope it will as long as I remain in servace we are having fine weather here at present but have high water but think it is to its highest now I have not heard from Jerome for some time

I suppose that the draft has gone off by this time and it known who are the luckey ones well as far as I am concerned it does not bother me but would like to see them in the field ready for work / men is what we want now there is no compromise till they are conquerd and that will soon be done to

Well Let I must close hoping to hear from you soon

I am your ever devoted Husband
