Dear Beloved Wife
I have the pleasure of answering your letter of the 9 of this mounth that came to hand last evening it found me well and in the best of spirits I am happy to hear your health is as good as it is and hope it may be fully restored to you for Love all my happyness is closely united with yours and knowing you are well cared for also have Father and Mother to look to for advise what more could one ask for Love I have the best of friends but not / as dear as the young Bride I bade adieu to nearly one year ago fond recolections linger on my mind of those days that were past at the home of my childehood with a friend at my side dear as life it self I love to linger on the thoughts of those days

Love as far as nuse is concerned I have none at least not more than you have it is quiet here the weather is beautifull the nicest summer weather

You wrote about a festival that was prepard for the War Widows and the nice sleighride you had I am glad you were able to participate in it I would liked to happened around about the time you were at supper / would'ent I went in on the delicacies not much I guess for they donot agree with my digestion organs

but I can safely say that my health is better at present than it has been for 10 years before I am stouter and fleshyer than I have been for sometime before

Well Let as I have been talking about cumming home this summer Well if we lay here it is highly probable that I shal come but it is not certain that I shal succeed but all plans works right you will see me there this season Hope you will you spoke about having me help me to eat sugar this I guess you had better save me some for fear I shal not / I shal not come home well I must close hope to hear from you soon

I remain your ever faithful Husband
Frank Ashley
