Dear Beloved Let
It is with feelings of pleasure that I embrace the present opportunity of writing to you the Beloved of my heart I am always ready to corespond with you but at times I find it a difficilt task to do on the account of not having the time to do so I suppose you are well aware of the mooves we have made till at present we were at Atlanta only a fiew days when we had orders to pack up and leave for this place the troops left / in ½ an hour a detail was left to guard bagage which followed the second day after the remainder of the Brigade is here Gen Bradley has command of the post the rest of the devision is at Chattanooga there has too or three devisions came back the troops that were stationed here left the same night that we came in they are in pursuit of rebs in rear I have an opinion that the rebs will hav a good time getting back to Dixie

Your letter of the 13 Sept duly came to hand it was read with pleasure as all are that comes from my Lady Love I hope I may hear from you more often but I suppose you are of the same opinion of my self

I hope this cruel war will soon be ove and all soldiers may return to their loved ones and / all of which is dearer than life it self I think I know how to appreciate home and near and dear friends I am grateful to God that I am still alive while many of my comrads were cut down in a moment as martyrs to the best country and to that dear old flag that has stemed the tide of many a fierce conflict and will come off victorious and waive proudeley over the United States again

We have the report here that old Jeff has sent to Lincoln to know what tearms he can make to come back but I donot credit the report we have no nuse since we came here neather mail there has no train came from Nashville for several days past but the road is not cut as yet but it looked for every day

We have been living finly since we came here can buy pies bread apples tates and so on but still it is not like home after all I always thought my Lady Love was hard to beat also am of that opinion yet I had observed such things as I was passing around but have said enough on that subject for the present will tell you the rest when I return home to you

This leaves all well here hoping this will find you enjoying the best of health but fear not still am hopeful for the better hope to hear from you soon give my love to all

I am your ever devoted Husband
