Dear Beloved Wife
            As I have the privelige of writing I do so by addressing one to you this leaves me well also of the rest although some fatiegued by work we have been buisy fixing our quarters but are about through So I hope to have a rest with the rest of the war worn Vets The weather has been very nice have cool nights at present and to day it rained the most of the time So it spoiled our meeting at 2 "oc" but to night there was meeting were preaching but I am sorry to say that I donot take the part that I should Let you know how wicked I am but am not so bad but what I respect religious / services I well know it is a cause that I ought to be engaged in for it is likely that we may be caled at any moment many a soul has been called to try the realities of death every day and at times by hundreds but hope they are better off but it is to be feard that many are not
 
            Dear Let I received 3 letters since I last wrote to you was much pleased to hear from you I received one to day mailed the 21 of August and 2 the 13 one dated the 1st and the other 4th of Sept So this will be the answer to boath or all of them
 
            Dear Let you may bet they were read with pleasure the reason can easily be explained Why, because they were from my duck or better ½ Let I would like to be with you to help you eat some of those good apples for they are better than our folks rase here I rased some the other day but 2 more not so / lucky as I was they had to go down south for their impudance they were taken about half hour after I left wer got in a cornfield but it is better to be born lucky than rich I have been so since I have been in the army
 
            I donot know as I can write any thing that will be interesting to you for we receive very little nuse here
 
            Well Dear Let I must haisten as my light is most gone
 
            I wrote to you about getting a furlough well it looks rather doubtfull at present but if an opportunity is offerd I shall avail myself of it at least but donot build a hope on that for it is a chaingable place I shall not be disappointed if I donot I must close. I hope to hear from my Let soon give my love to all

            as I did not send this letter I will add a word or 2 more I am well also of the rest of Auburns Sons
 
            Well Let we are having a general review this afternoon of the devision I suppose it will of great importance it very seldom that we have such this is the first since we came off of the raid but I am exempted this time
 
            Let you ought to see our bedstead we have a new cotage bedstead put up in our house well Let I hope to hear from you soon
