Dear Beloved Wife
having time and thinking you would like to hear from you me by this time (although it has not been long since I wrote to you but that is no difference) and feeling like writing to you I thought I would write a fiew lines but donot know as I can write much for my mind is wandering back to fond ones left far from here but I must tell you the reason it is on acount of a pleasent dream last night I was home with you and had the pleasure of kissing those rosa lips of yours which you know would of the greatest of pleasure to me also had a fine visit with you but found it all to be a delusion when I awoke in the morning but still my mind wanders back to pased times of happiness and often wonder when such times will return hope it will not be long before all weary soldiers will be permited to return home to their loved ones and / near and dear friends but Dear Let I often think of the advice you gave while with you and will act acordingly when I can but at times it is impossable Dear Wife I often think of your health and wonder how you are if better or not but hope you are better well Let you are rememberd by one also have my best wishes for your recovery and hope it may be soon that the bloom of health may reflect from those cheeks of yours well Let I hope you had a good time the 4th of July but have not heard what was going on there the 4th but I believe I wrote to you what kind of time we had here in the day time were shooting at rebs and at night had a jollification had one of our old battal flags stuck up and then had orations and speaches and songs I would like to had some of the northren folks heard them it would have done them good they were to the point and spoken plainly also had commissary whiskey which I supose you know makes people patriotic but donot count myself in but suppose I was as bad you know how poor tray was served by being ketched in bad company but I came off very well /

Well Dear Let I hardly know what to write that will interest you My health is very good but sometimes it is rather warm for comfort the heat effects a great may boys it has been dry for some time back till night before last we had a hard rain it just more than came down
