Dear Love I find little time to write you a fiew lines but not in answer to any that I have received of you for I have not receivd any from you for conciderable time I have been looking for a letter from you for some time but none comes for me neither have I received any from home I do not know the reason but not withstanding that I write again I am well and hope this may find you well and fine spirits I supose that you are going to school hope you are should like to go myself but cannot at present but it cannot / be helped as you well know and I must be contented and more than that I would like to entertain that lovely girl that I have in days past and gon probably I shal again if there's no preventing provadence time will tell how it will terminate but I shal remember you as long as life is spared we have been looking for our recruits for several days I have been thinking that a letter would come with them but I am here and they are some where els we have not made a moove towards the rebs yet but we have a little fun with them where we are they have been piching in to our forage train but do not make much by it would be a good thing for them to capture our train but I must get a light for I cannot see the lines as you can plainly see but I done the best I could /
Dec 7 /62 now I will finish this letter but I have no nuse to write but it is most darned cold the ground is covered with snow but I do not supose that it is half as bad as it is in Ohio but that we must expect naturaly so it is rumord that we will moove to morrow but do not know how it is but not far we will moove on the murfresborough pike to our positions on the left flank that is our corps 3 devisions but love I am still the same to you as ever your Lover and intended you know so I will not tell you but the most of all I should like to see you at your fathers house but that is not the case write soon and let me know you ar getting along and sarah I should like to hear from her very much / and how picked nose and her is geting along but she must not take offence to this for I do not intend to hurt her feelings in the least write soon from your friend yours in love my best respect to all
