Dear Let it is with pleasure that I write you these fiew lines but not in answer to any that I have received but but in answer to some that will be I have not received a letter for some time from you or from home the last was maild the 17 of last month do not know the reason of it I have wrote several since some of them you will get if they go strate my health is very good but can not stand the racket as I could be fore there is not much sickness in the Regt / we have very good weather have some rain yesterday was a fine day had orders to moove puld up and and loaded and laid here till after noon then had orders to pich tents on the same ground by the means our tent ground got dried up nice good for us for it rained all night and is still doing the same thing I have no peticular nuse to write you at the present may have some of these times but as for western and eastern nuse you know more about it than I can tell you I supose that the folks in Auburn and vacinity are making sugar hope they and have a good suply on hand by the time that we get home but are fearful that one or two mor sugar makings will come along before that time will come to pass but our time will soon be on the last half do not care how soon / time will come but I cannot say that I am dissatisfied with with a soldiers life all though it is a hard life but there is something that is enticeing for all that it is what might be cald a romantic life but still if I were at home and the war over I could be satisfied that is if I could have the privalig of the society of that one in former days past which were spent in some way I hope profitable but not for me to say but look forward with pleasure when that day may come again I have often looked back over the times that we have spent in friendship and especialy some of those times I never can forget while life lasts but must close I wrote a letter your sister a fiew days ago no mor write soon from your Lover and true friend give my best wishes to all yours till death
