Dear Love
it is with pleasure that I adress you these fiew lines in answer of your letter it came to hand the 4 of this month but I delaid it because I had not time to write I intended to write yesterday but we had inspection of teams and wagons therefore could not but I am happy to hear from you at any time and will answer as soon as fessable there after my health is very good and hope this may find well I do not know as I have any nuse to write we have very nice weather and have had for some time I do not know as I told you about getting our shelter or dog tents as we call them we had / to devide with the other 2 brigades as their tents were all condemd we kept one of our tents then had to take their old tents when we moove from here the tents will be turned over but hope we will lay here this summer but do not know how it will be this place will be the strongest place in the united states I guess I will have to close soon for I am so confused that I can hardly write you must excuse poor writing and composing but love I would like to make you a visit but do not think I can I think that we could arange maters so that some of those big mouths would be stoped at least that is my secret opinion openly expressed what do you think of it or what is your opinion of it privately expressed / but if I was there I tell you more about it than where I am and as for the reports that are afloat I do not believe them for it is not the first time that lies have been told I hope that God will stop their mouths for them so that they can think the rest of it I cannot imagine where it came from for there is so many that are medling with other folks business but who cares for them but I must close with my best respects to all and remain yours as ever hoping this will reach you soon and be answerd acordingly from your Lover and well wisher yours truly
