Dear Love it is with pleasure that I adress you these fiew to let you know that I have not forgot you yet nor will I but some times I cannot write as often as I would wish but love you are not forgot by me and if you donot hear from me as often as you should you must not feel hard on the acount for I am in circumstances difference from you but hope some day that we may be in like circumstances which will be joy to me and hope it will be to you / but I donot know when that time will come but look forward with pleasure to the time when we may be united in the bonds of matrimony you was speeking about sending your likeness to me I wish you send a photograph if you can get them as it will better for me to take with me but act at your pleasure concerning that point and I will be satisfied with it as you very well know that I am not very peticular about things in general but I should like very much to make you a visit but do not know how it will be but my time is fas hatning to a close when I may be permitted to return home to you and embrace you in the embrace of love which no one knows except those that are concerned and I am defely but I hasten as it is most dinner time and I feel like having / but I donot have to cook it as we have a darkey cook we are laying on the banks of stone river with a part of our teams the rest of them have gone with the troops in front but have not heard from them yet my health is good at present the army has all mooved and there has been heavy canonading for 2 days I musten with this as I have to go to the old camp after some trash so good by for this time direct as before untill you hear from me again from your lover write soon love to all
