Having time this after noon I will write you a fiew lines this leaves me well and hoping it may find you enjoying the same blessing we are 24 miles from Indianola and 12 miles from lacaca camped on a very nice praira
We had a very pleasent time cossing the gulf but lost 33 head of stock smotherd on the boat the health is good except some chills but it was taken at orleans
Well Let there is 9 regiments to be musterd out at present some are already / but we are not of the number but are hopeful we will be of the next but we have all kinds of rumors but cannot believe them I heard that Gen Stanla said there would be no more troops musterd out till winter but donot know as that is so hope not the organisation of the Brigad will be broken up in a day or two the quartermaster is fixing to turn over his stuf the division will be a brigad will be caled the 2nd Brigad
I expect to go to my company and shoulder a muskit and march through Texas we expect to go to Victoria 18 miles distant but I donot care what they do
I received a letter from you the 12 of this month datid the 30 of August the next day after I landed in texas
Concerning that letter from Tip it has not come to hand but am looking for them the post Master sent several letters to me while I was at orleans but they did not come before I left but they will be back soon
Let I have been thinking of spending the winter with you if you do not get tired of my company before the winter is past I cannot think different I believe I could spend it pleasently there and elswhere but if my Gran Dad says I must stay with him I must but against my will
