ever ancious to receive a letter from one that I love dearly and also to correspond with you the joy of my heart I received a letter to day from you dated Apr 10 was pleased to hear from you I have been looking for a letter for some time at last it came much to the joy of a friend of yours and a true one also I also received one from Wm W Ashley the first one from home we came to Cleavland last night the Brigade came to day the boys that were left look well we will join the same we were / in when we left we are at the front at the old station as usual there is no excitement the rumer is that we will moove to ringold toward dalton about 15 miles distant we have had a nice time on the march to this place although I cannot say that I stood it very well I have had the mumps but am over them now but cannot say that they were very comfortable things to have the mumps measles and small pox have been some trubelsom in our regt also others but it is runing out at the present my health is very good at but donot look as well as I did when I left you the south does not agree with me but do not know but what it does as well as before I am fleshey over the left you know I have the same position as before the weather / is very fine here and pleasent days and cool nights but we have plenty of blankets and good tents to stay in but it is not like being at home with you and the rest of the friends I am glad that you have got mooved and got rged up in your new home I do not expect that it looks like it did when I left I can imagine how it looks with you in it doing your work but I must eat my supper now I must close these remarks but remembering one that is dearer to me than life it self I hope this may find you well also the rest remember me to your folks as ever write soon yours &c.
