            Genl Couch has directed in reply to Col Hopkinson asking what disposition is to be made with Genl Trimble Kemper &c that they be sent to Baltimore as soon as able to travel and to telegraph to Genl Schenck the time of starting
 
Have them examined and if able to travel send them off at once as well as all other rebel officers or soldiers
 
I enclose you triplicate blank contract for Dr. J. H. Smith on duty at Gettysburg. The Surgeon General has objected to Dr. Wilson contract with him and if Dr. Smith will sign these blanks and forward to this office I will fill them up and forward him a copy to be retained by him which will make it all right
