Sir:
          I am directed by the Comy Genl. of Prisoners, to call your attention to the fact that the rolls of five thousand and odd prisoners, forwarded by you to this office, came without being verified, and without letter of transmittal. you are therefore requested to forward without delay a certificate of their authenticity so as to make them reliable records for file in this office.
