Dear Brother
I send a word to you with Frank T. on matter of buisness. we are all quite well (& the Queen does well) I went with W.C.B. to B. last evening, was glad to meet the visiting soldiers with Irvin Marth & Francis. they took my team out as far as F. then his hand took them home Irvin & Martha. I have not had any talk with them but hope to in a short time. they all seemed anxious to get home. well this day has been spent by takeing a man by the name of W. S. Rodman (from near Perne Ia ) to see your Wallow land. he wants about that amount of land. he likes it pretty well at low figures but wants a better hous & barn he wants all the rents of this year / I told him I thought $14 per acre as good as all cash would buy it he said he should not buy untill he heard from me. I told him I would write to you this evening he wants you to agree to let him have a piece of timber, at its value. he said he could pay $3000. down and then have 100 head of small cattle left. the back pay he wants divided in 2 payments, but dos not like to pay interest on them. Now you will write by return mail if you wish to sell at those figures or any other I have sowed near 4 bush. clover & timothy seed & had 60. or 65. apple trees set. Hendershot offered to give Rodman possession this fall & sell all his grain to him that seemed to suit the old man pretty well. he has been out in Mo. & Iowa but does not like

Yours most truly A. Barnard
P.S. Now. O. as to offer any suggestions in the way of District Provost, or applications for the Office I will do any thing you may wish but in sober common sense why should you wish to tax yourself with any thing out side of a retired life. but send in your bid & I will forward it to Davis, Swett or Fell.
