again I will be on picket gard to morrow I will get a site of fredricksburg and the rebels we often talk to each other and trade coffee to them for tobacco coffee is very scarce with them it is worth five dollars per pound in Fredricksburgh flower is said to be worth fortey dollars per barrel in Richmond and whisky worth twenty four dollars per gallon whisky is worth here two dollars a quart I have had but one drink of whisky since we left Cockeysville
Dear Mussy I am well at present and do hope that you are also well yourself. also/hope that Oliver Mary and famly are all engoying good health also hope that grand pap and all the rest of the friends are engoying Comfort and health. give my love to all my friends and now my dear Mussy I conclude by sending my love to you and offering up my best prayers for your happiness I enclose to you 22 kisses Dear Mussy I now bid you good by for the present please write to me scoon from your affectinate husband
