Amos Barnard to Osborn Barnard, undated
Well. Osborn as Sarah & Frances will be with you soon I will but send a few lines on buisness

I have written to Moses in answer to yours & his of the 24 Mar.

Sarah will be able to post you on most all subjects well I wrote you about the cows, the pide cow weighed 1250, so she brought $40 62cts I think it is a good sale. Hendershot has finished sowing wheat about 30 acres I think. I will get 2½ bush timothy seed & ½ bush. clover seed & sow the same on the wheat ground I cannot find time to attend to the sitting of an orchard, the roads has kept bad so long that I am rather behind with my work I have got Tobys colt and will keep it untill he settles up. I have went to B. 2 times to settle the Detrick / but have not got it accomplished. Judg Davis Judg Soot & myself went to see them on Friday last. John has moved to Chicago, his brother William said he would settle it if I would throw off some the judgment & cost is $1419.48. So in order to stop it here I offered to take $1410. but he would not do it, then said if we would get the receit & deed of John, then he would So the judges wrot to John to come down or send those papers so as the thing would be settled, but it is uncertain, but I have engaged More of Clinton to attend to it, if not disposed off. well O. I think your Capt. is about as exemplary as you would have a soldier to ben but if he ever would play and bet the liquor or cigars I would think him more than an average of Cambleites, for they are nearly all copper heads. well O. Aunt Ruth is here in the neighborhood, is going to come see us

[front margin upside down]
