Elsie Wild Legacy Agreement, 23 October 1883
Agreement
Whereas Mrs. Mary J. Wild, deceased, has bequeathed to her grand daughter and adopted child, Elsie Wild, the sum of ($2500.00) twenty five hundred dollars, to be held in trust for her by John Gibbs and Edward A. Wild acting as her guardians,—and whereas Mrs. Wild aforesaid left no other estate from which to pay this sum, than the landed estate around her old homestead in North Providence, R.I.—Now therefore, in order to preserve the said landed estate intact as long as possible, it is mutually agreed between all parties in interest, that no portion of the land be sold for the purpose of raising said sum of $2500.00; but that this, her claim for bequest, remain in favor of said Elsie Wild and continue as the first lien upon said homestead and landed estate in North Providence, whereof the title remains vested in Mrs. Mary H. Cushing, daughter and residuary legatee of said Mrs. Wild;—this until said Elsie Wild shall attain the age of twenty years, when said sum shall be paid or accounted to her with interest, whether raised from said homestead estate by sale or otherwise.
