            Dear sister
                                    I now sit down to anser your last letter as I did not get time to now well there is nothing going on here of eny account we have been building an entrenchment and I have been working there for the last few days so I did not get time to write we got new guns last night but we sent them back again the Col wold not take eny with out he gets the ons that he wants the ons he got is the rifeld muskets he wants the Enfield Rifels there is no move among the troops all is quiet at presant the wether is very plesent warm in day time and cold at night we get as much as we can get and more close than we know what to do with we do not know what they mean / by giving us so much I have 2 pare of pants 2 of drawrs 3 shirts 3 pare of socks 2 pare of shoes 1 coat and one over coat 1 blanket they are all good of the best quality so you may know what we have to do we have to wash 2 aweek sweep up our street evry morning and go to work or drill we have so much time to drill and so much for evry thing time flys away so fast that we do not know eny thing about how the week is spent well the mail has not gon out yet so if I hery I can send this letter the mail gos out evry morning so we have got to hery to send the letters away well you wanted to know how meny letters I have got since I come to camp well I have got over 55 and I do not know what to do with them I have got my portfolio full I have a notion to send them home in a box If you will take care of them well I will have to close for the want of something to write the boys are all well / and there is only one of them sick he will be better in a few days the rest is all well how is leuretta getting is she better if she is not better when you write I will get a ferlow and go home to see her if I can Charly Cook is well he has got his mony the next time will be ours so you need not send eny more stamps or eny thing write as soon as you get this do not forget as I am very unesy the male man is here so I wil have to close give me best respects to all of the frinds write soon till then I am your Affectin Brother S A Lyon
