Camp Tennally Sept 15th /61
 
            Dear sister I recived about 3 letters from home last week and you say that you rite evry day but one and if you did I have not recived all the letters well we are all well at presant there is not one of the boys sick at tall here wiliamson came home last night he has got well there is some talk that we that is the Penn Vol will move over the river soon as the Rebels are making entrenchments and they will have to be stoped before they get to far on there is a report here that they are enlisting men for 60 days at Pittsburgh is it so and what is the idea for doing so I think that there will be some move made before long as the Rebels are comeing rather close to us we are expecting prety soon to be cald away and I wish that they will do something as soon as possible and let us get at them the 9 Reg is still shooting at the Rebels pickets they clime our trees to shoot at them one of the boys got shot threw the hand they is to or 3 of the 9 Regt sick / sick we will have to go out to relive the 9 Regiment some day this week we will stay 10 days they will not bring the mail out but we will get all the letters when we come back but do not stop riting on that account for we may not go how is things getting along out there is all the mills runing or not did will go to saints store is ther meny men in camp wilkons how is how getting is the Doct coming to washington and when is he coming if he comes next week we may be out on picket but tell him to leave all you send at the Col gallagher head quarters and I will get them well sis I belive that I have told you all the news of eny act so I will close for this time my next letter will be a better one and a longer one give my best respects to all of the frinds to Mrs stewart and to Mrs Brown and all the rest and rite as soon as you get this till then I will not rite agine excuse all blunders and do not forget to rite to then I am your very affectionate Brother             Samuel Addison Lyon

When did you hear from Ant Nelys last There is not one of the boys here herd from them for a good while tell me how they are. Add
