Dear sister
I recived the box you sent evry thing was nice only the botle of catsup was broke and run down over evry thing yet it did not spoil enything the sutler brot it up to me he only charg me 25 cents I went to the 9th Regiment and took Charly cooks and Georg simpsons things to them I lost the letter that was for Georg simpson but may find it yet tell Magge stewart that Georg sends his best respects to her and is very much obliged to her for the things / that she sent to him and me. I am much obliged to you for the trouble that you and all of the rest took for to send me that box I injoy its contents very much there is one of the boys at this tent that has got one I have got lots of friends ever sinse they git to know that a box had come for me them pies was the best ones that I tasted since we come out here all of the boys in the mess says the same thing about them in fact evry thing is nice as they was when they started I was oferd $1.50 for one of the shirts all of the papers was spoild those aples that [?] & luretta sent are very nice to the wine is the best that ever I tasted you thought that we wuld not know how to eat if you had been here when the box was opend you wold know something about it we never know the good of nice things to they come to us evry body wants one of thos kind of caps they are compleat and there are the nights we need them when on guard and laying out / you sent the gloves they were just the things I wanted these cold mornings when we drill the capt says that Sis Lyon is the best girl that he has come across since he joined the armey he sends his best wishes to you all Charly cook says that he will rite a letter to Bee I do wish that John Johnston would quit writing to me for I will not write eny more to him he writes 2 letters evry week tell him that I got his letter and do not know when I will get time to anser it for we do not get much time to write and not to expect a letter from me for some time yet it is rainen here to day and I have got some more letter to day so I will close this letter we are all well yet I hope this will find you all well write soon till then I shall remain
