Nov the 17th /61
Dear sister
I recived your letter last night with one from Pa you spoke of geting the girls of the borough to make these shirts well we want 10 shirts make them larger than those you sent me make 4 the size of those you sent me only longer in the arms about 4 in and 6 biger than those you sent me do not send them to we send the money make pockets in the left side of them we have the promis of our mony this week for sertain we will drill no / to we get it you want to know these names of those that want them Well there is 5 of us that want them the largest is J. Moone 2 he will take large ones next J. Mc Greeves 2 Georg Weber 2 W. H. H. kennedy 2 S. A. Lyon there was a good meny more that wanted them they thought that they wanted wold get them as cheap here but they got them for $1.75 and they are not as good as myon Make the 10 shirts when we send the money make them longer than those you sent in the sleave 4 in longer all but one is in my mess / the shirts we get here is not half as good as yours they are warmer than yours but they are white and hard to warsh we have to wash them 2 or 3 times a week and then they are not half white for we have cold watter to wash with these cold days it is a cold job washing you may think that we are a grate bother to you so we are you have been at a grate deel of bother now about that Mr woods well he is about 6 foot high with black eyes and black hare he is one of the best looking young men that ever I saw Duquesne is the /turn it/ /

plase for boys but it cannot rais the girls that Virginia and Tennally Town can if you ware out here a while you wold see some of the pretys girls that ever you seen but I will not say eny more now for you will think that I am strict after some of them you told me to ask you all of the questions I cold think of well how are all of the folks there is all of the works in the city at work when are you going out to Butler when are those girls going to write to me have you seen Miss Smith / latly how are all of the borough girls and boys how are Nesmiths and McWherty Millers and all of the rest you need not mind Johnstons or eny of the brick [?] only cooks how dose old cook do now
well I will have to close for the want of news to write the capt sends his best respects to all of the frinds Georg Mcgehry Graham sends theres Give my love to all of the frinds to Stewarts simples Nesmiths Mc[?] and Millers and all of the rest how dose Miss Browns and all of the folks along the old B[?] / get along how dose will get along on the war question is he redy to take up arms to whip secessions out of the country well here I go off again I must close or I must fill this up yet write soon
