Dear Father Mother Sisters & Brothers I now take pen in hand to write a few lines to inform you of my health and where abouts I am in very good health and in good quarters I started this morning from Cliffburne Barracks and arrived here safe we had a good dinner and plenty of it I am unassigned as yet but i have been put into the 58th Co first Bat / for the present I shall get a 3d examination in a short time you must excuse me for not writing oftener and longer letters but it is next to impossible for me to do it all i can say is that this is the best place i have sean for a soldier I am in very good health and the best of spirits hoping these few lines will find you all in good health i remain as ever your loveing Sone & Brother
