Dear Brother
I now as i have a few spare moments take pen in hand to answer your kind and welcomb letter I am hapy to hear you are well and more so to hear you say you are again to commence your studies you say this is your last winter whether it is or not I hope you will improove every moment of your time and always try to be the best Schollar in school for i can sea the folley of idleing my / time whitch if i had improoved i could have been in a mutch higher position today only for me wasting my time in idleness i do not mean idleness at school only but at home the first thing for a good schollar is to learn to obey and that is allways learned at home first. Now as I have tried to give you good advise from experience I hope you will take it as such and improove in every thing. I will now close for this time Believe me your loveing Brother
