My dear Hester
Once more do I sit myself to write you hoping it will findyou far better than it leaves me; I have had a severe attack of my old complaint (the "Blues") ever since my arrival here and what is worse I will not get rid of them till we get in the field once more. don't you pity me?

My visit to New York spoiled me. I am tired of the Army now and would / like to be home for good but then that cannot be just now so I will cease to think of it.

Im very sorry that I did not see you Friday evening; the Capt would not go back Thursday and I thought I had as good a right to stop over a day as he had, and you know I could not leave without calling again. I wrote to Mother this evening and will mail this and hers together so you will get this as soon as she gets hers. have you called there since I left (Suit Your self)

I expect we will leave for the field in a few days we / thought we would stayhere for a month but the report now is that we start sometime this week.

I am in a bad mood for writing this evening so you will please excuse this dull letter and I promise a better one next time So with my love to you I will close

Yours as ever
Bob
