Dear Hester

                        I called at this place to day on purpose to see you but I do not know the name of the family you are stopping with. I thought it was Ogden and inquired of the Post Master where they lived and he says there is no such family living in the place. I leave again Saturday night. if you receive this in time please send me a note directing where to go and the name of the family you are living with or else call at our house

 

I sincerely regret not seeing you, but I assure you I have looked all over this place and could not find you. Ask the Post Master about the Officer looking for Miss Beaver
