Lydia Jane Houston
Lydia Jane Houston (maiden name: Snyder) was born around 1829 in Pennsylvania. She married William Houston, and they had at least seven children: Fanny, born around 1848; William, born around 1850; Joshua, born around 1852; Andrew, born around 1854; Isaac, born around 1856; Hugh, born around 1859; and Jacob, born around 1862. They lived in Kiskiminetas, Pennsylvania, and her husband worked as a farmer. By 1850, they owned $500 of real estate. They moved to South Bend, Pennsylvania, in the 1860s, and by 1870, they owned $3,060 of real estate and $870 of personal property. Her husband died in the late 1800s. By 1900, she was living in her daughter Fanny’s household in South Bend. She died sometime after 1900.
