Bristoe Station. Va. Feb. 13
Remembered Friend
I take this opportunity this opportunity to answer your very kind letter which I received a short time since and I need not tell you it was a welcome message, and I should have written to you before had I not been so buisy since I received your letter. I have been on duty every day since I received it. We are having very pleasant weather now. it seems like May at home. the roads are nearly as dusty as they are in the summer season but I fear it will soon storm and then our pleasant weather will disappear for a while. the Veterans have returned home They seemed very glad to get back although they said they had a very good time home yet they were glad to get back. there has about as many reenlisted within the past week as there did at the / time the others reenlisted They get three hundred and fifty dollars more than the first ones did They get it as soon as they get their furloughs. Well Lottie you will please excuse me from writing a lengthy letter for it is almost time for inspection I will send you a short story I cut out of a paper and will close and shall expect to hear from you soon
My respects to all and oblige
Horace G. Babcock
