Dear Sister
I received your welcomed letter Saturday and two dollars and a paper last thursday I am well as usual it is very fine weather here my hand has got nearly well I expect to be able to go on duty in a few days I got a pass today and went down to the City I was in the Capitol it is a large building covering about eight acres and it is all made of / marble stone and it is a splendid place we had preaching at camp yesterday we have a Chaplain in our Regt now by the name of Hunt you were speaking of Mrs Archer trying to get you a place to work I think you had beter stay where you are for board is so very high down here you could not begin to pay it and besides it is not a very respectable place for a young Lady of your capacity and I would persuade you to be content where you are Mrs Archer / sends her love to you give my kind love to Miny and Mrs Ward and all enquiring friends here is two little books I send one for Luisa Ward and one for Elly Dolf I will send you a few papers to let you see what kind of reading we get it is now near time for Rool Call give some of those papers to Cos I will now close with love to all.
