My dear Sister & Brother
I sit down to write you few lines to let you know I have just received a letter from William saing our poor Father is dead I feel allmost heart brocken a bout it to think we shall never see him again in this world I think some of going to Palmyra the last of this month & will you ask Julia or Margreat if I can board with them this fall & winter Amos will not come till spring we must see & have Father taken up this fall & put by the side of Mother / for that was his last request I want you to answer this just as  as soon as you get it for I want to know so I may know what to do give my love to all hopeing to hear from you soon I will close

Since I have writen this I have received a letter from Mrs Kayne saing you had just heard from home if I could only have been with Father in his last moments I would have given the world did Father say he left a will or what was sead a bout it I thought of corse some of you would go & see him I would have gone but I am not well
 
I feel as if I wanted to be / with my dear Sisters now our dear Father is dead I have just writen home to know what they do expect to do & to know if Father left will some of us ought to have been there You must write to me soon
