Asenath A. Cheatham
Asenath A. Cheatham (maiden name unknown) was born around 1805 in Georgia. She married Arthur R. Cheatham, and they had at least seven children: Benjamin, born around 1828; Caroline, born around 1830; Arthur, born on September 16, 1831; Eli, born around 1833; John, born on March 19, 1836; Charles, born around 1842; and David, born on September 6, 1849. They lived in Jefferson County, Georgia, and her husband worked as a farmer. By 1850, they owned $6,700 of real estate. A decade later, they owned $11,800 of real estate and $19,300 of personal property. Her husband died in the mid-1860s. By 1870, she was living in her son John’s household in Jefferson County. She died sometime after 1880.
