My dear Sissie
I will now write a few lines to you, but I will tell you before I begin that my letter will have to be a short one as it is most night, and I have not time. I heard from Willie on Sunday they are all well. Mrs Whitaker is to leive hear to morrow. She has been sick. I went to see her two days ago. Sister went this evening she says little Jimmy is sick. The William's and all of Cousins Serena children spent Saturday with me. I had quite a pleasant day. they are going to have a sewing society, and want me to join but I do not know yet if I will or not, as I have not anything to sew.
The baby is very well, she knows her name and she can sit alone. She knows me very well. I am very anxious to see you all, and I wish also to show my little neice witch I will bee very proud of. I wish very often that you / all could see her. She a site dear
Sister expects Cousin John Chesnut to morrow. I suppose Lawrence has left did you get his likeness taken. I thought he was to stay until next month I wrote to Brother George last week I do not what he will think when he sees my scratch for I donot like to call them letters.

I have just corrected Flora's letter & must send my love as I have not any thing worth writing. Jane will leave to morrow, not to return until fall. Have you heard from Father?
