Dear wife I seat myself to let you know that I am well and getting along vary well we have orders to cook three days rashions we do not know where the most of the oficers think we will go to murfersborough but they do not know we have drilling about two hours in the morning and from two to sundown in the evening I would like to see you and the children but I do not know when it may be I am better satisfied then I expected to be we have never messed off yet we have but three tents in our company their is about half of our Company has to sleep out of doors that pretty hard we get plenty to eat I never have had to stand guard yet they takes it by letter I will not have stand to they get down to P I do not know when that will be I would be glad it would never come well Cul, I have read two chapters every day since / I come and I expect to as I stay on I do not think there is many Chapters read in the regiment you dont know any thing about wickedness without you could be in camp awhile I received your kind to day I was very glad to here that you was all I want you to write to me every chance and I will do the same I am setting in the tent writing on Nathan steadman napsack by candle light they are all cooking and filling their haver sacks ready to start in the morning by six Oclock I have to bring my letter to a close Monroe is wating for the candle he is well and Rob to
