Dear Cul I seat myself this cold frosty morning to let you know that I am well I wrote to you day before yesterday and sent it by mail but I thought you might not get it and I had a chance to send a letter by William Wilson and I thought if you got one every other day you would be glad to get them I know I would be glad to get one from you every day but I know you cant do that so I will have to wait till they come I have had a pretty bad spell of the diarrhea but I think I am about to get over it I would like to see you / and them sweet little children but I do not know when it will be for the orders is mighty tight but they are running ayway every once and a while I was over in Tom Mccallas Regiment yesterday and he said there was seven left their Regiment the night before I expect if they every get a holt of them it will go pretty hard with them but them boys that the cavalry brought up here they kept them in four or five days and old Cheatham gave them a little talk and turned them loose and they are all in our Company now I want you write to me ever chance and let / know how you are getting along I want you to tell me where the boys is all gone and what Hark is doing well Cul I had to quit writing and go out to drill and while we was out we got orders to cook three days rashions and have them in our haversacks ready to start in an hours warning no body knows where but every one thinks towards the enemy not back I will quit and see if I can hear any thing more well Cul i have waited till nearly night to see if we would have to move but there is no more orders yet but they may be yet I do not know whether I will have to go or not / we had orders before and they alowed to leave then we had no gun then nor have none yet if they do go I expect we will stop here without they draw some guns for us I do not no wether they will or not well Cul I believe I will quit I have not said any thing about the rest of the boys they are all well and they are all writing and how I want you to write to me every chance I would like to hear from you mighty well I want you to let me know whether you have got that hog up or not
