Mary Chambers Thompson
Mary Chambers Thompson (maiden name: Hartsock) was born on January 3, 1837, in Pennsylvania to Henry Hartsock and Nancy Chambers. Her father earned a living as a wagonmaker. She grew up and attended school in Patton, Pennsylvania, and she married Andrew Jackson Thompson. They had at least nine children: Andrew, born around 1861; Francis, born around 1863; Harry, born around 1865; John, born around 1867; Charles, born around 1869; Annie, born around 1872; Alice, born around 1874; Mary, born around 1876; and Marian, born around 1879.
 
They lived in Halfmoon, Pennsylvania, and her husband worked as a farm laborer. By 1860, they owned $500 of personal property. A decade later, they owned $1,950 of personal property. Her husband died on December 12, 1895. She moved to Phillipsburg, Pennsylvania, in the early 1900s, and she died there of bronchopneumonia on May 14, 1912.
