Emily Parker
Emily Parker (maiden name: Tisdale) was born around 1828 in Herkimer County, New York. She married Sylvanus E. Parker on August 28, 1853, and the couple had no children. They lived in DeRuyter, New York, and her husband worked as a farm laborer. By 1860, they owned $400 of real estate. Her husband served in the Union army during the Civil War, and he died on March 31, 1865. She applied for a widow’s pension in September 1865 and eventually received one. She remarried on November 17, 1866, and she died sometime afterward.
