William F. Bartlett Statement, 12 April 1864
Head Quarters 57th Regt. Veteran Vols.,
Camp Wool April 12, 1864.

This is to Certify that

2nd Lieut Chas F. Lee 57th Regt Mass Vet Vols having been compelled by the present condition of a wound received at the second battle of Bull Run to resign his commission in this regiment, being unfit for active field service, is in my opinion a deserving candidate for a commission in the Invalid or Veteran Reserve Corps.

He is a faithful and efficient officer, and I regret his not being able to take active service with this regiment.

I do hereby respectfully recommend him for a commission in the above Corps.

W. F. Bartlett
