Saturday aug 30th 1862
Dear Father I take my pensyl in hand to write you a few lines to let you know that I am well and hope these few lines may find you the same I wrote you a few lines the other day to tell you where we were and where you should come to But now we have moved again about 2 miles above washington and I dont no how long we will stay here we have not got our tents struck
Last night we all laid out on the gound
we are all well and injoying good health
you must write soon and tell me all that is a going on and wether Jo goes a fishing any more
I must stop it is prety neer male time and I want to get you word before you start to tell you where to come to you must come to washington and inquire for head quarters of General Easys which you can find without much trouble I forgot to mention to you to fetch me some smoking tobacco and a 100 of Atherholts good segars
we hant got our money yet and I am [paper fold]
if you come and inquire for head quarters they can tell you where we are for they always know
