Dear Father and Mother Brother and Sisters
I take my pensyl in hand to write you a few lines to let you know that I am well and hope these few lines may find you the same I received your letters yesterday that was mailed on the 10 and 11 of Oct to day I expect there is a prety big time around there for it is lection day but I hant thare to go a gunning for rabbits rabbits are prety scarce down here Jo must set traps and all he can I would like to send him a dog if I could Nailor is well and we just have had our dinners and dan is a going to sleep the say the boys in the hospittle are / all a getting better you say pap got my boots made and will send them any time I write for them I am sory that you did not send them with mr Doan for they would a come safe but the first good chance that you get to send them send them on you said you got dont white to make them and Dans I would like to know who he is and where he lives Jo wrote in his letter that they had a meeting at warfords and the last man that spoke was hary White I would like to know wether it is old Hary White that went out in the 104 regt you mention about Sis a getting ready to go to school I think it will be quite loansome at home with me and her both gon this winter and I am in hopes that we may both get home in the Spring / you must tell her to be a good a good little girl and mind her teacher and study her books the papers mentioned some time ago about the river being so high in phila and about the Delaware river being so high I would like to no wether it was higher than it was before I came away
I hant got much to tell you at pressent for news is scarce about here for there hant much a going on we drill 1 hour in the fornoon and dress peraid in the afternooon at 4 oclock I am a looking for my box every day now
Dear Father I would like you to send me a couple dolars in your next letter and I would like you to send / me shin plasters if you can get them for they wont change a note here without you buy 40 cts worth and I dont want 40 cts worth of things at a time I got that other dollar you sent me all right but it is all gon aready
I must bring my letter to a close give my best respects to all inquireing friends
