Dear Father Mother Brother and Sisters
I now take my pensyl again in hand to write you a few lines to let you no that I am well and hope these few lines may find you the same henry and naylor and all the rest of the boys are all well
I received a letter from you last night and was very glad to hear from you you said you had not herd from me since uncle Jo came here well I did not write write while he was here for we was a looking for the box every day and I did not want to write untill the box came and the box did not come until uncle Jo had started he started away on Saturday fornoon about 9 Oclock / and in the after noon about 3 Oclock the box come and then we were prety buisy the rest of that day adeviding the things and then henry wrote the next day on Sunday and on monday I wrote one home but you could not got it well we got the box all right and every thing in it was all right except my can of apple butter the lid come off of it and spilt it all out and gave the boots a good dobbing
when you come out I want you to bring me some more apple butter and sossages and scrapple for that is very good that you sent me and I was very glad of it and the sweet potatoes was also and when you come you must not forget to bring me some dutch cheese and some short cake and butter to eat on them and some mince pies to you say charles price has give up the shop and you / have got it now I think if you can rent grand paps farm so as you can move on it in the spring I think it will be the best thing you can do and then if I get home I will try and help you on it for I cant content myself to work in the shop and I think it will do you good to work on a farm and get out of the shop
Isaac Dotts has got to traveling out around camp and when you come out he wants you to bring him one pound of cavendish tobacco plug and you must bring me some smokeing tobacco for it is to dear to buy here
I must now bring my letter to a close for I hant got much to write about so you must not forget to try to rent grand paps farm tell granpap I send my best respects to him /
I forgot to mention what a fine stove we have in our little log house we can build a fire in it and do all our cooking as fine as you can at home and we can heat it so hot that we cant stay in our house for he is a spunky buggar
You wanted to no wether all my things the apples and quilt and and the res of my things I got all of my things all right except the apple butter and that was spilt you wanted to no how the things tasted so far from home I think they taste a good bit better here than they used to at home
